this implies that the memory pointed to by the variable 'slmsg' is
unallocated. We will look into this.

You can use the command
SET TEMP-DIRECTORY <directory>
to specify where temp files should be created. Or the following environment
variables will be used in order:
CK_TMP
TMPDIR
TEMP
TMP
if no environment variable is found the value "/tmp/" is used.
